Most of the people today cannot identify with any of the existing political parties and in addition to this, believe that nothing will change no matter which candidate they choose to vote for. Instead of taking action, however, after they making this realization people get depressed and give up. This process is heavily induced by media/social surroundings/education. People are told that they are free to do whatever they want, but in fact, they've been subjected through economic and social pressure, to so many limitations that they've became used to feeling powerless but this is a feeling not an actual state of events. People's thoughts, then, become distracted and they perpetuate this cycle.

A blatant characteristic of today's society is the view that occurrences such as genocide were accidents of humanity, which our modern democratic world is immune to and above. People want to forget about these things and if remembered, they want to think of them as tragic incidents that happened a very long time ago, which they have nothing to do with. But these people fail to see that its continues to happen today, across the globe and nobody seems to care.

They just turn a blind eye. Politicians don't talk about the arm sales and the slaughter they only talk about the "terrorists" when the oppressed decided to make a move for self-defense. The government likes to say that they don't negotiate with terrorists and if anyone wants a change they are open to it. Having no idea of the social reality in the countries where the struggles are occurring, they condemn every act of violence and ignore the violence of the state, which is the cause.
After World War II, the German government exported arms to Israel instead of paying compensations to the victims of the nazi terror. With these weapons, the Israelis, then, have driven the Palestinian people from their homeland with a shocking brutality. Even today, the Israeli power struggle persists. Every day, they arrest civilians for no apparent reason, beating or even killing them. Women are having miscarriages because of the tear gas imported from the United States and used by the army & police. This all is happening under the support of most all of the western nations, especially the USA. The peace process and the liberal course of the PLO are now, considered a step backward by the radical Palestinian organizations.
